# Tokenomics

The Basic Meme Chain network does not have it's own token. The network's usage of the fully decentralized and ownerless $DOG token is essentially the same as how most other L2s adopt Ethereum as their native token. 

There are two tokens associated with Basic Meme Chain:

* **Basic Dog Meme ($DOG):** The gas token adopted by the network. 
* **Meme-o-drome ($MiMo):** The reward token for the proposed Meme-o-drome DEX.

***As a tokenless protocol Basic Meme Chain has no tokenomics structure for itself.*** 

***Neither $DOG nor $MiMo are officially part of the Basic Meme Chain project and are distributed and decentralized by mechanisms outside of the network's control.***
